Ari Youderian, M.D. Fellowship-Trained Shoulder & Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Ari Youderian is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the evaluation and treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions, including arthritis, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, fractures, sports injuries, and complex reconstructive surgery. His practice focuses on both surgical and non-surgical treatment options designed to restore function, reduce pain, and help patients return to work, sports, exercise, and daily activities.
Dr. Youderian has specialized expertise in reverse shoulder replacement, total shoulder replacement, fracture care, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, and complex shoulder reconstruction. He treats a wide range of patients, including active adults, athletes, adolescent sports injuries, and patients seeking second opinions for difficult or failed shoulder conditions. He is experienced in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques as well as advanced open reconstructive procedures.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Youderian completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, earning a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He graduated with Honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine before completing his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Youderian then completed advanced fellowship training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, one of the nation’s leading orthopedic training programs. Prior to joining SCOS Orthopedic Specialists, he practiced for several years in Chicago at the Illinois Bone & Joint Institute.
As one of only a limited number of fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow specialists in the region, Dr. Youderian provides specialized care for patients throughout South Orange County, Orange County, North San Diego County, South Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire, and surrounding Southern California communities. He is on staff at Providence Mission Hospital, Mission Laguna Beach Hospital and Saddleback Memorial Hospital. He performs surgeries and many centers including DISC, in Newport Beach, and MemorialCare Laguna Woods Surgery Center.
Dr. Youderian believes patients should fully understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery expectations in order to make informed decisions about their care. His approach emphasizes patient education, individualized treatment plans, and helping patients safely return to the activities that are important to them.
